Dualist Inquiry is the brainchild and solo project of Sahej Bakshi, a producer, guitarist and cerebral agent who graduated from the Thornton Music School at USC in Los Angeles, CA.
Having played the guitar since he was nine, in LA Sahej was exposed to a world of electronic music that shook him out of his rock foundations. In 2005, he began working with music production software to create a sound of distinct, rock-influenced electronica. Enrolling in the music production and recording programme at Thornton, Sahej trained under some of the most renowned producers and engineers in the American recording industry, in addition to gaining valuable experience working for major labels and studios such as Interscope, EMI, Universal and Capitol Mastering, among others.
Since returning to Delhi in March 2010, Sahej has been touring India extensively, in addition to being selected to perform at Berlin Music Week in Sept 2010. Additionally, he was ranked #1 nationally in the Burn Sasha Tour remix competition (2010) and was the 2nd Runner Up in the MTV Submerge Ultimate Pro DJ Championship 2010, held at Blue Frog in Mumbai. He was featured in Platform Magazine's Music special, in the list of '6 new acts not to miss', in addition to being featured in Timeout Delhi, Food & Nightlife, Delhi Times, MTV Noise Factory and HT City, among others.
In a few short months, he has shared the stage with India's best electronic acts such as Jalebee Cartel, Midival Punditz, BLOT, Shaair + Func, Sattyananda, Ma Faiza, winning critical praise from many voices in the industry.
With fresh, emotive and original music, and some serious guitar power combined with grinding progressive and electro beats, crowds everywhere are being treated to a previously unseen live electronic experience.
